Tubes for crimping specimens, for subsequent mounting in APT, sold in packs of 100. Typically used for electropolished needles, which can be mounted by crushing the tube around the sample. These specimens have been used down to ~50K, and above 600K, and are compatible with a wide range of oxidising or reducing environments.
Tube dimensions are ~1.8 mm outer diameter, with thin walls, and ~9mm long, and will accept square specimens up to 0.95 mm in side length. Can be easily crimped by hand using pliers or a crimp tool. Stainless is an excellent choice to minimise contamination during sample preparation, particularly with aggressive media or environments.
